🔥 Fire Safety Warnings

Your safety is our top priority. Please read and follow these fire-safety guidelines before burning any MJ's Candles product.

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always burn within sight and extinguish before leaving the room or going to sleep.
  • Keep away from flammable materials. Keep lit candles away from curtains, bedding, paper, clothing, and anything that can catch fire.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets. Place burning candles where they cannot be reached or knocked over.
  • Place on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Always use a proper candle holder or heat-safe surface to prevent heat damage and tipping.
  • Never burn in a draft. Avoid placing candles near open windows, fans, or air vents — moving air can cause uneven burning or flare-ups.
  • Do not burn more than 4 hours at a time. Allow the candle to cool for at least 2 hours before relighting.
  • Discontinue use when ½ inch of wax remains. Burning below this level can overheat the container.

✂️ Wick Care

  • Trim the wick to ¼ inch before every burn. A trimmed wick prevents soot, mushrooming, and excessive flame.
  • Use a wick trimmer, nail clippers, or small scissors. Remove any debris from the wax pool before lighting.
  • If the flame ever appears too large or flickers excessively, extinguish the candle, let it cool, trim the wick, and relight.

🕯️ How to Get an Even Burn (First Burn Matters!)

  • Allow the wax to melt to the edges on the first burn. Soy wax has memory — if you extinguish before a full melt pool forms, the candle may tunnel on every future burn.
  • First burns typically take 2–4 hours depending on the diameter of the candle.
  • Always burn in a room-temperature environment for best results.

🧡 Wax Melt Usage Notes

  • Use only in an approved electric or tea-light wax warmer designed for wax melts.
  • Never add water to the warmer dish.
  • Replace wax when the scent has dissipated — typically after 8–12 hours of use.
  • Keep warmers away from children and pets, and never leave a tea-light warmer unattended.
  • Allow wax to cool and solidify before handling or replacing.

🚗 Car Freshener Usage Notes

  • Hang car fresheners from the rearview mirror or place in a cup holder — never on the dashboard where they may obstruct your view.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Do not place directly on leather, vinyl, or painted surfaces, as oils may stain.
  • For best results, store unused fresheners in a sealed bag to preserve scent.

🆘 Emergency

If a candle fire occurs, do not use water to extinguish it. Use a snuffer, fire extinguisher rated for small fires, or carefully place a non-flammable lid over the container to smother the flame. Call 911 if the fire cannot be immediately controlled.
